Why is golf So Addicting?

Why is golf so damn addicting? Ive asked myself this question many times. Even when I first started playing, why was i addicted to this game when i sucked at it so bad. Nowadays I'm not so bad, but i still ask myself the same question. Especially after a bad hole or a bad round. Hit a bad shot "why do i play this game". Hit another bad shot "why do i play this game". Hit a miraculous approach shot from 150+ yards out "oh yeah, that's why I love this game". It's the challenge of the game and maybe even the beauty of the game. The game of golf is a great example of man's constant pursuit of perfection, or just a lower score than your buddies.

Golf, like other sports always gives you the potential to be better. You can be good, very good, number 1 in the world even, but there will always be the potential that you could be better. The feeling of a birdie or even an eagle, to those who have done it, is a great feeling. The constant strive to do that hole after hole, round after round, is like a drug. You will always want more. The better you get at the game the more you will want to play. If you don't think golf is as addictive as drugs ask Lawrence Taylor. For those of you that don't know who he is. He was a linebacker for the New York Giants who had a drug abuse problem for most of his career and even afterwards. He tried to rehab but it never helped. When he finally got clean he credited his hobby of golf with helping him get over his addiction. But me and you both know he just swapped one addiction for another.

Golf will always be a forever changing sport. With new clubs, balls and equipment, players are always looking for the latest thing to help improve their game. The feeling of purchasing a new driver, putter or anything is a good feeling and you cant wait til you can use it.

I think the most important thing about the game of golf and why it is addicting is the courses. With so many different courses around this world of ours there is always a new challenge waiting for you, and none of them the same. Some courses more beautiful and challenging than others. I like to compare golf to fishing or gambling. You can go fishing multiple times and not catch a thing. Then you go out and catch a monster fish. Catching that monster is what keeps you going out time after time. With gambling its the chance that you will win big. You go to the casino and lose and lose and lose. Then you go and hit the money big time. Golf is the thrill that your next shot or swing or putt could be the perfect putt. Something you can brag to your friends and family. Golf is a great game and I'm not scared to admit that I am addicted.

Top 5 Hottest Female Golfers

Top 5 Hottest Female Golfers

1. Blair O'neal

I know, I know, I know. Natalie Gulbis is not my number 1.How can this be you ask yourself? If you search around you will find Natalie at the top spot in almost all other Hottest Female Golfers list, not mine; but don't worry shes not far behind. I put Blair at number 1 because of her looks and personality that could brighten anyone's day. Naturally she attended Arizona State University, which is known for having an overwhelming number of Hot Chicks on campus at all times. While she was there she won 2 out of 3 NCAA long drive contests. Bombing it on an average 275 yards. In 2008 she was named by Sports Illustrated "one of the Hottest 50 athletes of All Time". After turning pro in 2004 she has accumulated 9 career wins. Dont think she belongs at the top. Ill let the picture to the right settle the rest of my argument.

2. Holly Sonders

I know, I know, I know, I didn't have Natalie Gulbis at #1 so she must be at my #2. Wait shes not? Holly Sonders? Who the hell is Holly Sonders? I will bet that most of you have never heard of her, unless you watch the golf channel. More specifically the Hot chick that provides tournament news and top headlines at the bottom of the hour during Morning Drive. Although more recently she has nabbed the co-anchor spot on the show. Also has appeared on several episodes of School Of Golf. Although growing up in Ohio (boooooo), she attended school in my home state at Michigan State University. Where she was a member of the 2007 Big Ten champion women's golf team. Yea she doesn't golf in the LPGA or any other professional tour. So some of you wont think that she should be on the list. She defiantly counts on my list. Might even subscribe to the Golf Channel just to see her more.

3. Natalie Gulbis

Ahhhhhhh all you Natalie Gulbis lovers can breath easy now. What can you say about Natalie Gulbis, the LPGA golfer with her own swimsuit calendar. She jumped onto the media spotlight in 2005 as one of the most popular women golfers in the United States. At the age of 14 she became the youngest player to qualify for the ladies PGA.(later broken by Michelle Wie) She attended the University of Arizona for one year before she turned pro in 2002. This 5'9'' long legged blonde got her first win at the 2007 Evian Masters tournament in France. It's not hard to see why she is known as the "Anna Kournikova" of golf. The bombshell golfer is currently single, but admits that if a guy has a long drive and is good looking, that that would turn her on. So guys, get your driver out and start practicing.

4. Anna Rawson

Landing in at the 4 spot is Anna Rawson. Born in Australia, when she isn't seen on the putting greens she can be found strutting  sexy fashions on a catwalk and posting as a model. Anna's blue eyes, blonde hair, rocking body and her Australian background, make her one of golfs sexiest athletes. Sports Illustrated will confirm this by placing her in their top 10 list of "Hottest Female Athletes". Although she hasn't done much as of winning on the LPGA tour. She has won us over in the looks department.

5. Grace Park
Born in L.A. Grace Park is a growing sex symbol. You nerds out there already know that she has graced the world for her role in the show Battlestar Galactica. Where she has a steamy sex scene in the forest, and has said that producers had to edit it down big time, and remove all of her moaning. (hint: you can find it on youtube). Her and her deep bronzed skin tone was also photographed in Maxim in 2005. She recently retired from golf in June. Not before nabbing 12 professional wins, 6 on the LPGA and 5 on the Futures Tour. With her most notable win coming at the Kraft Nabisco C'ship in 2004. Watch out for this girl on the big screen.

Simple Ways To Lower Your Golf Score

SIMPLE WAYS TO LOWER YOUR GOLF SCORE
  • When you can, play, with accomplished golfers who have been playing for a while. Watch what they do and see if you can pick up  any tips in there game. Ask for advice now and then, but not to much. You don't want them to never want to play with you again because your constant asking of questions. You can also find a certified teaching professional near you and look into taking some lessons.

  • The short game is where its at. This is where the most strokes can be made up. Especially for those of you who are just starting out. One of the most vital parts of golf is getting the ball onto the green for a make-able putt. At least half, if not more than half of your practice time should go into chipping, pitching and putting. Practice a wide range of shots from all different angles and lies to be better prepared for any situation you might encounter during the course of a round.

  • One problem people have is trying to get as much behind the ball as possible and end up over swinging their club. Try shortening your swing to get a better control of where you hit the ball. Dont try to go out there and kill the ball to get an extra few yards, this is how you lose accuracy. Shortened, controlled swings will end in better results.

  • Know the course that your going to be playing. It is key to have a game plan. Knowing yardages from each marker will help you in sellecting the right club. Play the course with a mind set to stay away from any hazards. For example it there is a bunker on the front left of the green, with the pin placement directly behind the bunker, hit to the right of the bunker. Instead of trying to make the perfect shot going for it al land possibly ending up in the sand.

  • Finally remember to play the way you know you can. If you cant, don't try to out drive anyone your playing with. Dont worry about what club there hitting from 170 yards away. Use what you know you can hit that far. If your trying to match someone who can drive or hit farther than you, your going to start losing your control and result in worse shots.

TaylorMade Burner Plus Irons Review

My review of the TaylorMade Burner Plus Irons? I think that they are amazing!!!! As long as I have been playing the game of golf I have used a hand-me-down, Ben Hogan, iron set. They wouldn't be bad irons if they werent 30 years old. Okay, 30 years might be an aggzageration, but you get the point. These irons had a smaller club face, which meant a much smaller "sweet spot" My iron game continued to struggle and struggle the longer i held on to these old irons.
One day, after a terrible day out on the course I decided that i needed something new, and a new set of Irons was what I wanted. Now, you can go out and spend upwards of $900 or more on a fancy set of irons, but my bank account couldn't handle that, and I'm sure many of yours can't either. So if your like me I set out looking at clubs around the $400 and under range.

After swinging many different sets at my local golf outlet/driving range I feel in love with the . If your iron shots are lacking in distance, these irons without a flights will help you solve that problem. Also with a lighter shaft and thinner clubface than most irons, you will be able to increase your swing speed. Also with the larger clubface you get more balls heading forwards, and less balls heading left or right. Another plus with these irons is I was able to more consistanly get better flight on the ball. Unlike my old irons where many times I was finding myself skulling the ball.

I have noticed a huge improvement in my iron game without a flights. I recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade there iron set and not break the bank. These are not one of the most popular set of irons out there for no reason. I highly recommend the Taylormade burner plus irons . You can check them out at Amazon.com by clicking here. with a 45-day money-back guarantee. If you don't see improvement in your game and lower scores (which you will) return them. I saw major results in my first round, finishing 5 strokes under what I normally shot. So pick up these irons and improve your golf game.

Augusta National Golf Club Invites 2 Women

So yesterday Augusta National Golf Club did something that they haven't done since the private club opened up in 1932. Augusta is home to one of the most famous PGA tournaments, The Masters. Augusta chairman Billie Payne announced that former secretary of state Condolezza Rice and Darla Moore (south carolina finance executive) had excepted invitations to become members.
Personally I think that this is a good thing, but Augusta obviously has there reasons for changing there long history of a all male club. Really this is nothing more than an acknowledgement that rich privileged women should get to join rich privileged clubs too. Not much will change, Augusta will still remain a playground for the rich, powerful and connected. The only difference is that there are now just two rich, powerful and connected women members. For a golf club to host one of the most famous golf tournaments and invite thousands and thousands to witness it and then have whoever watch it on television, but then be a male only golf club, i think just looks bad. But you better believe that there are a minority, and i hope that it is a small minority, of guy members that are frowning on this decision. The guys who like things the way they are. Almost all of us will never even set foot on the on the courses historic grounds. But the fact that so many people welcome the decision suggests that it was the right thing to do.

Golfing tips, First post

Well this is my first post so we will see how this goes. I love to golf and I have a lot to say about it. Started my own website recently to give people tips to help them with their golf game. You can check it out at go.perfectyougolfgame.com Its not totally finished but it is coming along. Creating a website was a lot more work than i thought it was going to be. I logged a lot of hours into getting it to where its at now and now its just about getting it seen. I just want to help the average weekend golfer improve in his game. If your a golfer and love golfing then you know that you can always imporve. Golfing is fun but its a whole lot more fun when your having a good round. So in conclusion of my first post I will end on saying my blogs will mostly consist on talking about golf. Might through in some reviews on some products that i have used now and then, or blog about the PGA here and there. Any questions on anything or the site feel free to ask. First quick tip for anyone having trouble hitting out of the sand. You dont want to hit your ball. I know that that sounds funny but here's the trick. You want to pretend that there is a dollar bill underneath your ball. You want to try and slice the dollar bill from underneath your ball. You want to aim to hit the sand about an inch behind your ball. If you happen to have any young kids of your own you should buy them a sand box. Then use it to practice your bunker shots lol.
                                                                                          Good luck on the course,
                                                                                                               Aaron.
