Simple Ways To Lower Your Golf Score

SIMPLE WAYS TO LOWER YOUR GOLF SCORE
  • When you can, play, with accomplished golfers who have been playing for a while. Watch what they do and see if you can pick up  any tips in there game. Ask for advice now and then, but not to much. You don't want them to never want to play with you again because your constant asking of questions. You can also find a certified teaching professional near you and look into taking some lessons.

  • The short game is where its at. This is where the most strokes can be made up. Especially for those of you who are just starting out. One of the most vital parts of golf is getting the ball onto the green for a make-able putt. At least half, if not more than half of your practice time should go into chipping, pitching and putting. Practice a wide range of shots from all different angles and lies to be better prepared for any situation you might encounter during the course of a round.

  • One problem people have is trying to get as much behind the ball as possible and end up over swinging their club. Try shortening your swing to get a better control of where you hit the ball. Dont try to go out there and kill the ball to get an extra few yards, this is how you lose accuracy. Shortened, controlled swings will end in better results.

  • Know the course that your going to be playing. It is key to have a game plan. Knowing yardages from each marker will help you in sellecting the right club. Play the course with a mind set to stay away from any hazards. For example it there is a bunker on the front left of the green, with the pin placement directly behind the bunker, hit to the right of the bunker. Instead of trying to make the perfect shot going for it al land possibly ending up in the sand.

  • Finally remember to play the way you know you can. If you cant, don't try to out drive anyone your playing with. Dont worry about what club there hitting from 170 yards away. Use what you know you can hit that far. If your trying to match someone who can drive or hit farther than you, your going to start losing your control and result in worse shots.
